Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was teaming up with Epic Games' battle royale, but that's not the only place where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in Fortnite. However, if gamers will truly desire to use it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Simpsons car everyone is itching to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most players would absolutely enjoy to face off behind the wheel of The Homer—the notoriously impractical car the patriarch built himself in the classic episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. Not even receiving the massive SUV, the enormous truck featured in the tenth season. Instead, players will obtain the family's everyday well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Even though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an recognizable element of the series. For those who analyze Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan shares the identical collision model as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the only customization item from the series coming to the game. The event will additionally feature a series of challenges to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a press release, the missions will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to the Simpson residence, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
Although the complete list of earnable items hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed so far:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it seems fans will also receive rims with a television showing The Simpsons' title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts inspired by smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event lines up with the major Simpsons takeover of Fortnite, which includes a brand-new map of the fictional town, as well as a month-long Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons event launches on November 1st and ends on November 17th.
